Special 'Treat'

The scholars received a very special treat this afternoon.....Mrs. Blizzard stopped in to read some her favorite holiday stories!

Gingerbread Houses With Dad

Today was one of the scholars most favorite day, Gingerbread Houses with Dad! I was completely blown away by the creativity of the designs.....and since we are a STEM school, I loved hearing words like: foundation, sturdy, support, reinforcements and many more!

We Love To Code!

This week is Hour of Code and scholars all over the wold are participating. The scholars are enjoying learning how to program and write lines of code. On Wednesday, we had a group of students from Colleyville-Heritage High School visit our class to teach us a coding app called Lightbot. They were amazed by the skill level my scholars demonstrated!

Garden Update

We went out to check on how our carrots are coming along. We discovered that even though we planted on the same day, some plants are growing faster than others. We also harvested some parsnip. 

Hour of Code

This week is designated as Hour of Code. Students here @ Cannon, across the district as well as around the world are participating. To kick the week off, the scholars went to the library to learn how to program Roamers with Mrs. Berumen. 

House Building

Scholars are now working with a partner to build a house using a given material. 

Santa Shop is Coming to Cannon!

Family STEM Night

What an incredible night, families were working through the engineering process to design, create and test their pumpkin protectors. In all four corners of the cafeteria you could see pumpkins being dropped followed by loud cheers signaling a successful design!
