Using Legos during Engineering

To apply what we learned during our field trip to Legoland, scholars are using Legos to build various designs. Each group scanned the QR code for their desired design. They then followed the step by step directions for building their design. Pictured below is each group working together to find all the necessary pieces required to make their design.

Our Field Trip to Legoland

We had a blast learning about tall towers during our field trip to Legoland! We learned that tall towers are called, skyscrapers; architects design skyscrapers and the a large base is critical for theses tall towers. A large base makes them sturdy!

Our Stepping Stones Are Completed!

We completed our stepping stone project! Today Mr. Howard returned with a couple helpers to pour concrete into our molds. Once the concrete was poured, we were able to follow our design plan to personalize the stepping stones. Our next step will be to place the stepping stones around the gardens.

World Read Aloud Day

Wednesday, March 5, was World Read Aloud Day. Our class was able to read with another first grade in Coppell using Skype. Since we are both STEM schools we read engineering stories. Our class read, Iggy Peck Architect.
