Where To Place Our Stepping Stones

First Grade began by taking their stepping stone templates out to the gardens to get an idea of how the placement like look. We worked through several issue like placing them too close together or not close enough. We also talked about creating walking paths going from one garden to the next. After this, we went back inside and made a map of the gardens. Working with a partner, we used 67 cubes to represent the stones and made a plan. 

Stepping Stones

First Grade has been given the task of designing and creating stepping stones to be placed around the grade level gardens. We began by inviting an expert, Mr. Howard, to come in and speak about stepping stones. Mr. Howard taught us about the various materials they are made of, how to make them, the many purposes of stepping stones and the difference between cement and concrete. 

Who Needs to Buy When You Can Create!

Today the scholars followed their own designs to make boxes for Valentine's Day.

Legoland Here We Come!

First Grade will be going to Legoland on Friday, March 7, 2014. All forms and money is due by Friday, February 28. 

The 100th Day of School!

Valentine's Day Party Information

Valentine's Day is fast approaching! Our party will be Friday, February 14th from 1:45-2:45. We are collecting $1 from each scholar to purchase ice cream for the party. Please have money sent to school by Monday, February 10th. 

We will be designing a container for Valentine's Day. Please send a container to school by Monday, February 10th. Examples for a container include: shoe box, cereal box, oatmeal cylinder, water jug or something to that size. Make certain that the containers are clean and dry as we will be using them to design a mail center for your scholar's Valentine cards. Thank you!
